AAAI 2012 Spring Symposia
The Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, in cooperation with Stanford University's Department of Computer Science, was pleased to present the 2012 Spring Symposium Series, to be held Monday through Wednesday, March 26–28, 2012 in Palo Alto, California. The Symposium Series was preceded on March 25 by a community-wide John McCarthy Celebration at Stanford University. The titles of the six symposia were as follows:
- AI, The Fundamental Social Aggregation Challenge, and the Autonomy of Hybrid Agent Groups
- Designing Intelligent Robots: Reintegrating AI
- Game Theory for Security, Sustainability and Health
- Intelligent Web Services Meet Social Computing
- Self-Tracking and Collective Intelligence for Personal Wellness
- Wisdom of the Crowd
Special Event: Celebration of John McCarthy's Accomplishments
March 25, 2012, 4:00 – 7:00 PM
The AI and Computer Science Community gathered at Stanford University to celebrate John McCarthy's life, accomplishments, and contributions to the field of artificial intelligence and computer science. The talks were held in the Cemex Auditorium at the Knight Management Center and consisted of a two-hour series of short talks without slides followed by a reception in the Oberndorf Event Center. All symposium attendees were welcome. This event was cosponsored by the Stanford University Computer Science Department and AAAI.
